Wishful thinking is not enough when it comes to the law of attraction and manifestation. I hate to burst the bubble of splendid plans and wishful affirmations, but it is important to understand that we do need to take responsibility and play our part in this game called life.
So how do we do it? How do we invite the law of attraction, manifestation, or so-called “flow” into our lives? How do we get the universe or providence to support us?
In this blog post, I share the 4 steps of manifestation as I currently interpret them as a Consciousness Coach and student of life.
4 Steps of Manifestation:
1. The starting point is language. We have an idea or a dream, for example, to start a business. Express your ideas or dreams in language! As a Consciousness Coach I call this a speech act. “There shall be …”
Make sure to be clear about “what” it is that you wish to manifest and to add “by when.” Eckhart Tolle speaks about the importance to use present tense in the manifestation process, for example, I am a Consciousness Coach, or I am a business owner. Stating your intentions in the future tense implies experiencing lack.
2. Then check. Are you 100% committed to your goals? Are you fully committed to your plan or are you allowing your life force energy to be diluted? There is a famous saying, “energy flows where the mind goes.” By keeping all the options open, energy may flow out that backdoor.
This 2nd step is WH Murray’s one elementary truth, “the ignorance of which kills ideas and splendid plans; that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too.” Coming back to the business idea, this is when the flow starts kicking in, clients start knocking on the door or find you suddenly online, etc.
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back,
always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creativity
there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless
ideas and splendid plans…That the moment one definitely commits oneself,
then providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have
occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s
favour all manner of assistance, which no man could have dreamt would
come his way.” – W. H. Murray
3. From time to time, you may lose a bit of momentum. This is where you could tap into what we call the “Power to Act” in Consciousness Coaching. You may not always feel like doing what you said you would, and you still do it – independent of your thoughts and feelings. For example, having two conclusive sales conversations per day or practice discipline as an act of self love when it comes to changing your inner dialogue. “Fake it till you make it!” Do a Facebook live even when you think you most certainly cannot. It’s ok. Start doing things because you say so!
4. Finally, let go of your attachment to the “how.” This is the time to sit back and allow the manifestation of ideas and dreams to unfold. Trust that you are playing your part in the game called life. You are doing all the doing also known as the Yang. It’s time for some being or allowing to happen, also known as the Yin. For example, I still marvel at how teaching is now part of what I originally thought would be a coaching business.
With all the manifestation techniques in the world. Make sure to remember one thing. THE main thing. That “the way to happiness is to be happy on the way.” – Rabbi David Aaron. “The Goal is the climb and the top of the mountain is the means.” And that is a topic for another blog post.
